Weekly Reading #43

2016년 43주차 업데이트 입니다.

모든 것을 내 손으로 이룰 수 있지만은 않습니다.

내가 알고 있는 것이 부족하고, 내가 가진 실력이 부족해서

가끔은 우리가 가지고 있는 문제를 해결하기 위해서

다른 사람에게 도움을 청해야 하는 경우가 종종 생기곤 합니다.

내가 보기에는 불가능하고 여러워 보이는 일일지라도

다른 사람이 보기에는 의외로 쉽게 할 수 있는 일일 수도 있습니다.

하지만 우리는 다른 사람들의 경험과 실력에 대해서 알지 못하기에

어떤 것을 도움을 받을 수 있는지 조차 알 수가 없는 경우가 많지요.

그렇기에 내 생각만으로 쉽게 포기해 버리기 보다는

주변과 생각을 공유하고 계속해서 대화해 나가는 과정이 필요합니다.

다른 사람의 도움을 받게될 때에도 같은 점을 유의해야 합니다.

내가 생각하고 있는 목표를 상대방에게 전달하는 것은 어려운 일입니다.

다른 사람들은 내 머릿속에 떠오른 생각이 무엇인지 알지 못합니다.

반면에 나는 이 생각을 실제로 구체화 하기 위해서 무엇이 필요한지 모릅니다.

그렇기 때문에 나의 생각을 실제로 활용하고 새로운 것을 만들기 위해서

각자가 아니라 함께 모여서 계속해서 준비하고 구상을 해야할 것입니다.

이러한 점은 도와주는 입장에서도 마찬가지겠지요.

막연히 그런 거는 내가 도와줄 수 있다고 생각할지도 모르지만

어쩌면 그것은 상대방이 바라는 도움과는 다를 수도 있습니다.

서로에 대한 호의만으로는 서로를 완전히 이해할 수는 없습니다.

Not everything can be done by your own hands.

You may not know enough, or you may not have what is needed

to solve the problem you are currently facing.

In such cases, you need to turn to others for help.

Even when you think something is challenging, or even impossible,

other person may find it not so difficult at all.

However, the problem is that we do not know others' experience and knowledge

that we cannot even judge which problems can be solved with the help of others.

Therefore, we need to share our situation and keep talking with others

instead of giving up easily based on our own judgement.

The same obstacle lies when we are getting help from others.

It is really difficult to share what we want to others exactly.

Others do not know what the idea in your mind looks like.

On the other hand, you do not know what steps are needed to carry out your plan.

Therefore, in order to utilize your idea and fulfill your goal,

you need to plan and build together, instead of simply delegating the job.

The same principle applies to the ones who help others.

You may think that you can easily help others, and others will be glad for it.

But your conception of help may be different from what others actually need.

You cannot understand others fully, however much we may care for each other.
